Guys, 'Blue Mountain State' Is Launching A KickStarter Campaign To Fund A Movie

Good news, Mountain Goat fans: "Blue Mountain State" is launching a KickStarter campaign to bring the canceled Spike series to the big screen.

In a clip posted to YouTube on Tuesday, BMS quarterback Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson) announces the April 15 launch of the KickStarter initiative. (In reality, the video is a doctored version of Jimmy Kimmel’s famous interview with Kanye West.)

Although the video makes the announcement look like a joke, the campaign is very real. In an interview with CNN, Ed Marinaro, who played Coach Marty Daniels, revealed that “everybody’s involved” in the effort. He specifically mentioned the show’s creators, Eric Falconer and Chris Romano, who both tweeted about the campaign.

For those unfamiliar, "Blue Mountain State" was a comedy that centered on the bizarre antics of the college football players at the fictional Blue Mountain State. The show ran three seasons on Spike before the network pulled the plug on it. Despite low ratings, the show gained a devout cult following and even featured such guest stars as Bill Parcells, Boomer Esiason and Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson.

The KickStarter to help fund a BMS movie goes live on April 15. Fans can follow @BMSTheMovie for updates.
