Adam Sandler will join real-life buddy Andy Samberg as a guest star on an episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," E! learned.
According to E!'s Kristin Dos Santos, Sandler will play himself on the Super Bowl episode of the Fox comedy. The casting decision will reunite the two "SNL" alums who co-starred in "Grown Ups 2" and "That's My Boy." But, Fox and Sandler are staying mum about his specific plot line.
This news comes hot on the heels of the freshman show's two surprise Golden Globe nominations. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" was nominated for Best Comedy Series and Samberg was nominated for Best Actor in a TV Comedy Series.
"It's very surreal," Samberg said to Access Hollywood about his nomination. "I had zero clue they were being announced. I had no idea we were eligible and even if I had I would have not expected to be nominated for this."
